Don’t put Adsense on your blog especially if you just setup your blog for a couple of days. Learn on how to money-tise and make money online by reading blogs of successful bloggers, study and decide which one is applicable on your site.
Last April, I’d setup my first blog on Blogger (my other blog), after reading some sites on “How to Make Money Online” which I found very informative and easy to understand. And after some tweaking, I also posted a few entries and signed up for Google Adsense, and wait for a couple of days for their approval.
The day I’ve received their email, I’m so excited especially after knowing that it is approved by Adsense. I’d followed the link and get my pub number and placed it on my blogspot blog for like a week, hoping that somebody click on it.
But my excitement turned into a dismay, because instead of Adsense, the ads that shown on my blog are mostly PSA or Public Service Ad. So, I removed the Ads immediately after knowing what’s going on. And for those who did not know until now, PSA or Public Service Ad are also from Google. Don’t get me wrong, but the problem of PSA is that you cannot money-tise or make money online with this kind of advertisement that appeared on your blog. They are non-profit organization advertisement that are served to pages when targeted ads are not available or the Google bots/crawlers are unable to gather nor access the content from your newly setup blog or page.
And also the other reason why I got the PSA because I don’t have enough content on my blog, not only contents but ‘Quality Contents’ as probloggers told to newbies to always write quality contents. The big dogs of blogging also wrote that it is a big No, No to put an Adsense on your newly setup blog to avoid PSA, instead you had to write a lot of contents particularly about or related on your chosen niche or topic.
So for those newbies like me, don’t put Adsense on your blog, let the Google bots crawled first and indexed your blog. But there’s no easy way to get crawled and get indexed, you have to built some quality inbound links and optimized some of your keywords. And also you have to pay a visit on some blogs with the same niche/topic of yours and leave some comment on it, but be sure that you’d read the article first before hitting the comment button and also make your comment relevant to the topic (not the usual ‘cool blog’ thingy), so that they will not block your comment thinking that you are a spammer.
You can also register on any well-known forums, post good topics and enter some discussion, and try to answer some questions that thrown on you about and related on your niche. Means you have to be known and make lots of friends and acquaintances online and more importantly, don’t forget to add your name and URL on your signature.
Be patient, wait for a couple of days or even weeks to get indexed by Google and if you’re lucky enough and being indexed just before you finish eating your dinner, then that is the right time to put Adsense on your blog, learn to money-tise and make money online.
Happy blogging!

ei Carlo,
This is only based upon on my experienced. And as a newbie, I immediately put AdSense on my blog even it still new and had no traffic at all(and no targeted keywords). Beside, maybe I’m just the only person who knows and visited my blog back then.
btw, glad that you came by! =)
I dont think there is anything wrong with putting up adsense early on your blog. You can always opt to diable PSA’s. You can also drive traffic through social networking even if the blog is not indexed in SE’s yet. And as long as there is traffic, there is potential earnings =)
You are absolutely right.
why whats wrong with adsense ads? i know theres a lot of advertising network out there but i guess adsense is also a great source of basic blogging income. visit my blog at http://www.bloghauz.blogspot.com

@Jerry Cash,
Perhaps my speculation about ‘Don’t put AdSense’ is wrong, but I had to write what I’d experienced anyway. And as a newbie, sometimes I want to experiment on some ways but I will not also disregard some of the blueprints that already laid out by few successful big guys of blogging.
Btw, I also need to drop by frequently on your site and read more postings about SEO, especially on some tips on how to increase traffic and make more money…
And about using AdSense to money-tise… yes you are correct (that only 1 post per page, if you’re really into AdSense – I also remember that one from Griz) and must write longer post with the targeted keywords. But in this case (blog), I didn’t apply those, because I have plans on this blog in the near future… maybe I’ll try dip my feet into some affiliate stuff, I don’t know.
Anyway, I’m glad that you like my style… and most importantly, thanks for the heads-up and by making an extended comment on the above posting… that’s what I really need most… lol
Good Stuff Ariston,
There are two trains of thought (by the big guys.) Some say put AdSense on as soon as you get indexed (does no good before) and work on back links, or get some traffic built up (by getting some back links built up first) and content built up and then add the AdSense. From my experience I lean toward the second option, because if you have no real traffic you won’t get many clicks anyway. Also if you plan on using AdSense to monetize you really need fairly long and targeted posts and only have one post per page. (so Google will know what your ads should be about.) If you see your ads topics are all over the place or are PSA ads you know you haven’t targeted your topic well enough. I wasn’t planning on writing so much lol but I get going and before I know it, oh well, Some extra fairly targeted content for your blog!
I like your style Ariston, keep at it and you’ll go far!
tnx for the info and advice..cheers!
@ Sel,
Maybe that’s also another reason why I had PSAs, but I do write longer post though I’m not sure if I had targeted the correct keywords… lol
btw, thanks for the heads-up and glad you came by.
@ Miss Blogger,
You’re welcome and thanks for droppin’by!
aw thanks for the info.
there’s no problem actually if you place adsense into your blog even if it’s new and has fewer content. What you just need to do is make every posts longer, with targeted keywords of course.
