Most of my articles are ways to make and earn money online, however they are mostly focus on adults to monetise. This time, I will share here some new ways for kids to make and earn money online and offline, be a dime or wad of cash. But before that, let me share you my experienced on how I’d made money when I was just a kid.
And this is my story.
My late grandfather was a fisherman and he owns 4 salt water fishing boats, 2 of them are huge with big spot lights on every side. The said fishing boats are designed and especially made mostly for catching big fish, fishes like tuna, barracuda and sharks.
I know that it’s a bit scary, though not scary as shark diving, but when you heard about my late grandfather’s idea of doing business(his occupation) which is catching big fish including sharks, big or small if it involves sharks, I think it sounds dangerous.
Anyway, you already had the idea on what will happened when the tuna fish are caught, of course we sell them to the market and after that, they are mostly found on Japanese restaurants, and they become the expensive sushi, sashimi and fish fillet. But how about the sharks? Oh! the sharks, yes, the sharks, not much really, we just take off their liver and fins, and the remaining meat will goes to our neighbor who happens to know some methods on how to cook the shark’s meat and turn it into a delicacy.
The Sharks Liver.
The sharks liver will put into a big container and cook, let it boil for many hours until the sharks liver becomes an oil. Yes, the shark’s liver turns into a shark’s oil. Then, let the sharks liver oil to cool for a long hours before they transferred into bigger barrels and ready to sell on the highest bidder commonly known as the sharks liver oil exporters.
After the bidding, the final buyer export them to some industrialized countries who transform them into vitamins, medicines and perfumes. Perhaps most of you had already tried on some vitamins and energy drinks that are made of shark liver oil.
The Sharks Fin.
And about the sharks fin, I clean them and let the fins exposed to sunlight until it become dry, and sometimes it takes a couple of days before the fins totally sun-dried. Clean and pack it, then ready to sell by kilogram, that’s how I made money out of sun-dried shark fins. And maybe some of you are scratching your head and still wondering if what will happen to the sold sharks fins?
But instead of answering that, I will counter it with question, have you been to any Chinese restaurants? And if your answer is yes, but still don’t have a clue on what happened to them(sharks fin), then too bad, you just missed them.
They are there, written on the special spot of their menu. Yes, they are made to become one of the famous soup, and you can find it mostly in every menu on most Chinese restaurants, they are called the Sharks Fin Soup!
And that’s how I made money folks, by selling sharks fin. Until the new law about catching and killing sharks had passed and approved, me and my grandfather become jobless because catching sharks are not allowed anymore. =)
However, you can still found a few Chinese restaurants that offers sharks fin soup on their menu, but of course in much higher prices.
And now back to the topic.
Some Methods for Kids to Make and Earn Money
Help your Parents / Do some Errands.
Help your Parents and the same time Earning Money. If your parents are baking, be an assistant, help them in the kitchen(if you are fond of baking, then this is your opportunity to learn) do some errands. They are more than happy if you ask them to let you sell some baked brownies and cookies in your school and in your neighborhood. Also help your parents when organizing a rummage sale, I’m sure you can get your cut at the end of the day.
Shoveling / Watering / Lawn Mowing / Painting Fences.
Help your neighbor shoveling their driveways and sidewalks during winter. Planting and watering their plants and flowers during summer are also another option. You can also ask them if you can mow their lawn, rake leaves or paint their fences for a few bucks.
House Cleaning / House Watching.
Do some house chores such as cleaning the attic and basement. Vacuum cleaning and dusting, and even mopping the floor are easy job for kids. Inquire about your neighbors who are planning an out-of-town trip or vacation, then ask them if they want you as their house watcher.
Pet Setting / Dog Walks.
Take care of your neighbors pet while they are out-of-town. Or just make money washing and walking your dog’s neighbor.
Car Washing.
One of the best way for kids to make money. Not only for money but most of all, the fun!
Learn to Recycle.
Collect cans, bottles, cartons and newspaper. Separate them and sell them on your nearest recycle shop. If the bottles are returnables, then return them and ask their deposits.
Selling Coupons and Cards.
I know this one sounds weird, but you can also cut coupons (or collect cards) on cereals and oatmeal boxes and sell them to your classmates. You can also participate in selling collectible baseball/basketball cards, one of the easiest way to earn cash.
Some Methods for Kids to Earn and Make Money Online
Computer and internet connection needed when following below methods of earning and making money.
Create a Blogs.
Create a blog, be yourself and add Google AdSense or throw a couple of affiliate ads. I know a couple of kids who make massive money online.
Play Online Games.
Have fun! Play online games and be a pro-gamers, accumulate points and bonuses, cash them out and make real money. Be a video games tester, get paid playing games who are soon to be release on the market. Another easy way for kids to earn money online.
Create / Sell Backgrounds.
Learn how to make backgrounds for Twitter and Friendster, then sell them online. Those are easy and programming skills are not needed but it’s an advantage if you know some basic, all you need is a little know-how on either Photoshop, Illustrator, Freehand or even Corel Draw can do a good job that earns money.
Download / Upload Files.
Sign up on some websites that pays bucks when you downloading and uploading files, but also make sure that you had the latest antivirus program, in-case you accidentally downloaded some files with virus.
The above mentioned ways to make and earn money for kids should not interfere with any of their school work, including assignment and homework. And by doing the above list kids must be supervise by either their parents or guardians.
